"Our concept was that we wanted a copy of the Telluride Welcome Center," Henry says. "While the welcome center is open, we just planned to enclose it in glass." . . . when they had mentioned their idea to several other timberframe companies they were told that they couldn't put that much wood and glass together. "But Alan [Wind River Timberframes' owner] told us that if it is architecturally sound and approved by an engineer, then there's no reason why we couldn't do it," Henry says.
"At first I thought, 'I don't want to live in a barn.' But this home has turned out so wonderful," Munnie says with a chuckle. "I just love living in that beautiful barn." |
